Privacy should be understandable, not hidden behind slogans.
Financial information is unusually personal. Hōkime therefore ensures that your financial data is encrypted and never leaves your device unless you activate a transfer from one of your devices to another. It cannot be seen by Hōkime and is always stored in a secure encrypted format.
Not sold or used for behavioural advertising
Hōkime does not sell personal data or use financial data for behavioural advertising. Necessary providers process only the limited non-financial information required for their role.

Hōkime may process information to provide the service, protect users, comply with law or complete an action you request. It does not build an advertising business around your data.

Necessary service providers
Google supports sign-in, Stripe handles billing, DigitalOcean hosts the account service, and Frankfurter supplies reference exchange rates. Approved support, email, diagnostics or analytics services remain disabled until their separate controls are complete. Current integrations are designed not to send readable financial workspace records or usable vault keys to these providers; historical backup-expiry and final production evidence remain launch gates.

Hōkime combines local encryption with authenticated access, protected secrets, security logging, verified payment events, controlled releases and tested backup-and-restore procedures.
Privacy questions

Is Hōkime zero knowledge?
Yes. Your financial records are encrypted and stored only on your device or devices. Hōkime does not receive the records or the keys needed to decrypt them.
What does the local vault protect?
It encrypts supported financial records stored inside the Hōkime app on your device.
Can Hōkime see financial records?
No.
Does Hōkime use my information for advertising?
No. Hōkime does not sell personal data or use financial data for advertising targeting or behavioural profiles. Necessary providers may process limited account or operational information only for defined service, security, billing or support purposes.
Can support browse my financial workspace?
No. Because your financial data is stored and encrypted only on your device, our support staff cannot see it. For your security, do not share financial data with anyone, including Hōkime support staff.
What happens if every device and recovery key are lost?
Hōkime does not hold a decryptable recovery copy. Losing every authorised device and your recovery key can make the financial workspace permanently unrecoverable.
Can I export or delete my information?
Hōkime provides supported export and account-deletion controls. Limited security, billing, backup or legal records may remain for a controlled period where necessary in order to comply with local laws and regulations.
